I'll be honest, was tough deciding which Move to roll with. Only one chance at a first impression right? Gotta be sharp! Can't fuck this up!

Shit had me deep in thought. Should I go with a throwback Move? Tip the cap to the days when I first started CBTM? Maybe go no Move. Throw the boys off a little. Syllabus Day type Move. Get everyone strapped in, ready to go, then hit ‘em with a, "Hello boys! Here's what to expect... Now go ahead and enjoy the rest of your day."

Come to think of it. What a Move by those professors, Syllabus Day.  I mean you're essentially not having class on the first day of class. Roll in a touch hungover, no laptop, no book bag, just a 0.7 G2 tucked in the right pocket. My favorite part of Syllabus Day... Nah, chill bro. Too meta.

Feel like 85% of you scrolled down to see if there was an actual fucking Move and not just some rambling intro. If you scrolled and came back, I promise I’m almost done. Seriously, been anti-prologues my whole life and here I am talking about Syllabus Day.

Couple months ago I spotted an interview with Scott Hansen. For those of you who don't know, he’s the host of NFL Red Zone. Legend as far as I'm concerned. In the interview, Scott mentions how during the show's opening and closing monologues, he never gets nervous. Dude just gets in a flow state and rolls with it. That is except for one time. He mentioned being nervous during his first ever on screen introduction. The reason being, he was so confident in the show that he knew this opening clip would be shown in documentaries and show anniversaries for years to come.

Thought that was awesome. A guy jumping into a project with that level of confidence. Fully believing you're in the midst of creating something special.

I currently don't feel that way. Your boy has a serious history of starting projects and  immediately bailing because things no longer "feel" right. The CBTM Podcast Mockumentary, longer Move breakdowns, shoot I've axed CBTM Podcast like 4 to 5 times. So yeah, there's a good chance Movesletter #1 won't make it to Movesletter #22. Either way I'm pumped to have you guys here. Thanks for reading.

Move by: @aj_gaskin

With where I'm at in life... This Move just cuts a little deeper. Been trying to slim down on the possessions lately. Be like those hippy guys who are huggers. Get that Kliff Kingsbury aesthetic. 2026, anti-clutter kind of year for your boy.

I'm out here selling old drivers, golf shoes, tossing old t-shirts in the, "Donate Bag". Just a classic Hefty trash bag I throw in the corner of my room that often overstays its welcome by a good 3-4 months. The Donate Bag usually starts out hot. There's always 5-6 tees that are easy to part with. The fit, color, neckline, some tees just don't mesh with the current system. Easy releases as far as I'm concerned. Then I shuffle through the rest. Maybe find 1-2 that are borderline. For me, borderline equals a keep. Not only a keep but I'll try to give ‘em more minutes and hope for a Josh Hamilton kind of resurgence.

Next thing you know the Hefty's barely packed and tucked away in the corner. "I'll add a couple more later." "Big clean day this weekend." "Sift through the entire wardrobe, get more decisive." "Nice! Good for you Bobby." Feels like this clown meme I swear.

Days, weeks, months go by and that Hefty's still chillin'. Then it hits me... Some deeper shit's going on. I'm scared to let go. It's just hard for me to part with certain tees man. Sure, I don't wear them anymore but the memories, the good times, it's all weaved in.

AJ might be on to something here. Instead of donating or having them collect dust in the back of your closet... Why not hang ‘em in the rafters. Feel like this Move solves a couple problems:

1. Makes your apartment more lively. People walk in and see a ripped Towson Club Soccer t-shirt hanging from the ceiling. Someone asks about it, next thing you know you're reminiscing with a smile. Also puts to bed this bullshit narrative that, "Men don't know how to properly decorate."

2. Sets the bar for what it takes to be legendary. Now I'm going through my dresser with a certain standard in mind. Come across my medium Violent Femmes graphic tee that I've outgrown/outfatted. Lamar Odom kind of shirt. Sure, he had some great years and worth mentioning when you're talking about 2000-2010s basketball, but when you look up in the rafters and see Kobe, Shaq, Kareem shirts… Makes it a little easier to donate.

Get the boys over when you decide to raise another one up. Maybe bring one down for a much anticipated party? "And coming out of retirement we have Yellow Buffalo Sabers Long Sleeve!" Just a beautiful thing man.

Legendary T-Shirts in the Rafters. Could Be The Move.
